A round platter of sambar, rasam, vegetable curry, papadum, rice, and a sweet -- the classic home meal.

Method
Cook toor dal until soft; mash gently.
Simmer dal with tamarind, sambar masala and mixed vegetables for 20 minutes.
Prepare a thin rasam with tomato, tamarind and tempered spices.
Plate everything in small bowls on a round platter with rice and papadum.
