Method

  1. Cook toor dal until soft; mash gently.

  2. Simmer dal with tamarind, sambar masala and mixed vegetables for 20 minutes.

  3. Prepare a thin rasam with tomato, tamarind and tempered spices.

  4. Plate everything in small bowls on a round platter with rice and papadum.
